Patrick Macnee has passed away “Life here, began out there”


Patrick Macnee, in the Battlestar Galactica universe most known as Count Iblis of Battlestar Galactica 1978, has passed away at his home in California, a statement on the actor’s official website announced today.

Daniel Patrick Macnee died a natural death at his home in Rancho Mirage, California, at age 93, with his family at his bedside, according to his son, Rupert. (click for full statement)

200px-Count_IblisOther than Count Iblis, Macnee also was responsible for the opening narration of the series “Life Here, Began Out There” and shared the “Imperious Leader” credit with Dick Durock.

MacNee is probably most known for his role in the original “The Avengers” series, where he took on the role of John Steed.

Macnee was pre-deceased by three wives: Barbara Helen Douglas Foulds, actor and devoted mother of his two children, a son, Rupert, and a daughter; Kate Woodville; and Baba Majos de Nagyzsenye. He has one grandson.

Patrick Macnee spent the last forty years of his life, and is remembered fondly, in California’s Coachella Valley, living in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.
